Ingredients

  • 1 c. oatmeal
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1/4 c. sugar or 1/2 c. honey
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • bread flour

Directions

    Put oatmeal into boiling water and let stand.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Add oil; add oatmeal mixture and all other ingredients.

    Mix well as you go along.

    Add bread flour until you get a stiff workable dough.

    Knead well.

    Let rise.

    Knead again and shape into loaves.

    Let rise and bake at 350° until done (approximately 20 to 25 minutes).
