- 1/2 c. warm water
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 to 3 dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. warm milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 5 c. whole wheat flour
- 6 c. water
Directions

1In a large bowl, add warm water, yeast and sugar.

2Let stand 5 to 10 minutes.

3Add warm milk, shortening, eggs and salt.

4Make a stiff dough.

5Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

6Punch down and make into loaves (4).

7Let rise 30 minutes.

8Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
