Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (we like mature cheddar)
- 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 12 teaspoons dried sage
- 14 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup natural yoghurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon poppy seed
Directions

1Sift together dry ingredients.

2Add herbs and cheese.

3Cut in butter until it resembles fine crumbs.

4Beat together egg, yoghurt and milk.

5Add to dry ingredients to moisten - do not overmix.

6Batter will be moist.

7Spoon dough into greased 9 inch round cake pan.

8Sprinkle with poppy seeds.

9Oven: 375.
