- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. dried wild sage
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly.

2Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

3Beat egg and cheese until smooth; add melted shortening and yeast.

4Combine all ingredients in large bowl, adding flour mixture slowly and beating after each addition until stiff.

5Cover dough with cloth and let rise for 40 minutes.

6Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.

7Brush top with butter.
