Wilted Lettuce

  • 4 to 5 slices bacon, sauteed and crumbled
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 scant c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • any amount lettuce, chopped
  • leaf or head radishes, chopped if desired, and/or green onions or regular onions, sliced

Directions

    Put chopped lettuce (and green onions and/or radishes) in large metal or glass bowl.

    Add bacon and toss.

    Mix vinegar, sugar and water together until dissolved.
  4. 4
    Then pour vinegar and sugar mixture over lettuce; toss some more, cover with a lid or plate to keep warm.
