- 1 1/2 lb. red onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. white vinegar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 or 4 Tabasco sauce
Directions

1Put onions in a ceramic or glass bowl.

2Bring other ingredients to a boil.

3Pour over onions and let stand.

4When cool, refrigerate overnight.

5These keep well in a tightly closed container.
