- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 5 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 5 c. plain flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.

2Combine baking powder, salt, soda and flour.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add buttermilk, sugar and yeast mixture.

5Knead dough slightly.
-
6Put in covered bowl in refrigerator.

7When chilled, roll out and cut.

8Bake very slowly about 200° until done.

9Dough may be kept in refrigerator several days.
