Yeast Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 stick melted oleo
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. nonfat dry powdered milk
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal

Directions

    Sprinkle yeast over warm water and stir to dissolve. Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Beat until well blended.

    This makes a stiff batter.

    Pour into 3 greased loaf pan (foil pans).

    Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour.

    Bake at 375° about 35 minutes.

    May use for sandwich bread or toast and butter.
