- 4 c. scalded milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 9 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 cakes yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 5 c. flour (enough to make dough stiff enough to knead)
Directions

1Scald milk; cool.

2Melt shortening and add to scalded milk. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

3When milk is cool, add flour, salt and sugar sifted together, a small amount at a time.

4Stir well and add vanilla, beaten eggs and yeast before dough gets too stiff.

5Knead well on a floured board.

6Have a soft dough.
