- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 4 c. plain flour (approximately)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c. warm water.

2Melt shortening, sugar and salt in 3/4 c. warm water.

3Add egg, also the dissolved yeast to the above mixture.

4Add enough flour to make soft dough.

5Let stand in warm place until twice in size, about 1 hour.

6Punch down and add flour until you can roll.

7Make in desired shape.

8Let rise until twice in size about 1 hour.

9Brush with butter and bake in 400 degree oven about 6 minutes for brown and serve rolls.

10Bake longer if you plan to eat them immediately.

11These rolls are fine for reheating.
