Ingredients

  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 6 c. flour

    Combine first 4 ingredients; let shortening soften.

    Cool to lukewarm.

    Combine warm water and yeast.

    Let set until yeast is dissolved.

    Add eggs.

    Combine with other liquid.

    Add 3 cups of the flour; mix well.

    Add remaining 3 cups of the flour and stir until well mixed.

    Cover with plastic wrap and store in refrigerator until well chilled.

    Make rolls as desired and let rise until double in bulk.

    Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes. This dough will keep in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 days.
