- 5 c. flour
- 3 rounded Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 rounded Tbsp. shortening
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Cut shortening into the dry mixture.

2Dissolve yeast in a little water, then stir in buttermilk.

3Add to dry mixture; mix until smooth dough is formed.

4Refrigerate in a greased covered bowl a few hours or overnight.

5Make into rolls.

6Place on greased pan. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

7Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes.
