Ingredients
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 6 c. flour
Directions

1Mix warm water, sugar and yeast.

2Let stand about 5 minutes. Add shortening and stir until melted.

3Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

4Knead about 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and bubbles form under dough.

5Let rise about 45 minutes in warm place. Punch down and shape into rolls.

6Bake in greased 9 x 9-inch pans or 9 x 13-inch pan.

7Let rise for about 20 minutes.

8Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.

9Rolls will have a hollow sound when thumped gently on bottom when done.
