Ingredients
- 2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cakes Fleischmann's yeast
- 6 c. flour, sifted
- 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
Directions

1Scald milk, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm.

2Crumble in yeast and stir until dissolved. Add 3 cups flour and beat until perfectly smooth.

3Add melted shortening and the remaining flour (or enough flour to make an easily handled dough).

4Knead well. Place dough in greased bowl. Cover and set in warm place, free from draft.

5Let rise until double in bulk, about 1 hour.

6Shape into rolls and place in well-greased pans. Cover and let rise until light, about 45 minutes.

7Bake in hot oven at 425° for about 20 minutes.

8Makes 3 dozen rolls.
