  • 8 slices bread, buttered and cubed
  • 1 lb. shredded Cheddar
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • chopped onions to taste
  • mushrooms and green pepper to taste
  • chopped cooked ham or 1 lb. cooked and browned sausage (optional)

Directions

    Place bread cubes in greased pan.

    Pour other ingredients in topping with egg mixture.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Bake, covered, at 350° for 1 hour.

    Uncover and brown about 5 minutes.
