- 1 1/2 lb. boneless stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 5 medium potatoes, pared and cut in 8ths
- 2 c. cut-up carrots (1-inch chunks)
- 1 c. coarsely chopped onion
- 1 c. celery (1 1/2-inch pieces)
- 2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper

1Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix gently but well. Turn into a 3-quart casserole.

3Bake at 275° for 5 hours. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
