  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 5 medium potatoes, pared and cut in 8ths
  • 2 c. cut-up carrots (1-inch chunks)
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped onion
  • 1 c. celery (1 1/2-inch pieces)
  • 2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper

    Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix gently but well. Turn into a 3-quart casserole.
