  • 12 to 15 medium cukes
  • 4 c. cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
  • 5 tsp. salt
  • 8 c. sugar

Directions

    Leave cukes whole and cover with boiling water.

    Let stand at room temperature.

    Next morning, drain and wipe dry.

    Cover with boiling water.

    Repeat for 3 more mornings, then cut cukes into 1/2-inch slices.

    Mix rest of ingredients and boil.

    Pour over cukes, let stand at room temperature for 2 days.

    Bring contents to a boil; pack, seal and process 10 minutes in a boiling water bath.
