Ingredients
- 1 c. Burgundy wine
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 3 lb. stewing beef
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
- 6 sliced carrots
- 12 small onions
- 6 medium potatoes, halved
Directions

1Combine first 6 ingredients.

2Pour over beef in shallow dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

3Drain meat, saving marinade. Discard bay leaves.

4Brown meat in oil.

5Add broth and remaining marinade, bring to a boil.

6Cover.

7Reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

8Add carrots, onions and potatoes.

9Cover and cook for 30 minutes more.
