  • 2 pkt Dry Yeast
  • Hot Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 4 c. Flour
  • 8 tsp (2 Tbsp. + 2 tsp.) Baking Pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. (3/8 c.) melted Shortening or possibly Oil

Directions

    Combine yeast, 1/2 c. hot water, and the tablespoonful of sugar; let stand 5 min.

    Meanwhile, sift flour, baking pwdr, and salt into a large bowl.

    Combine 1 c. hot water with the two tablespoonfuls of sugar and the melted shortening or possibly oil.

    Combine wet ingredients with flour mix to create a soft dough.

    Turn onto floured board; knead till smooth.

    Roll out biscuit dough fairly thin, and cut into about 35 rounds.

    Grease tops of all biscuits.

    Make short stacks of two biscuits each, one on top of the other.

    Place in a greased pan; let rise till double.

    Bake in warm oven (425-F degrees) 15-20 min, or possibly till nicely browned.
