- 2 c. water
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1 pkg. mincemeat
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 1/2 c. diced apples (optional)
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix first four ingredients and cook to rolling boil.

2Continue cooking for 3 minutes.

3Stir a few times and set aside to cool. (Must be cold.)

4Then add remaining ingredients to cold mixture. Bake in a tube pan for 60 to 70 minutes at 350° to 375°.

5Cool cake for 1 hour before removing from pan.
