  • 1 lb. butter (must be real butter)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 lb. blanched or slivered almonds
  • 1 (9 oz.) Hershey bar

Directions

    In a saucepan, cook the first 3 ingredients until almonds begin to crack, stirring constantly.

    This takes about 20 minutes. Will turn caramel color.

    With a teaspoon, drop a few drops in a cup of cold water to test for hard crack.

    When hard, a ball or strand forms in a cup of water.
  5. 5
    Pour mixture on greased cookie sheet.

    Cool for 10 minutes.
