Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup silvered almonds
  • 2 1/2 cup cooked, chunked chicken
  • 4 tbls butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/ cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 tsp 5 spice (mix together a bit of anise, ground cloves & cinnamon)
  • 1 tbls soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup white rice

Directions

    Melt half the butter in a large skillet, saute mushrooms & peppers, about 2 minutes. Add rest of butter. Add flour,5-spice, salt & pepper to taste. Add soy sauce, chicken & sherry. Cook until sherry has been absorbed. Add chicken & simmer 10 minutes.

    Served topped with silvered almonds over rice.
