  • 2 lb Small White Onions
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly Margarine
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 2 Tbsp. Tomato Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper

Directions

    Cook onions in boiling water till barely tender when pierced (about 15 min).

    Drain and let cold briefly; then trim ends and peel.

    Pour into a shallow 1 1/2 qt baking dish.

    Heat butter in a small pan over medium heat.

    Add in honey, tomato juice, salt, paprika, and pepper; stir till blended.

    Pour over onions.

    Cover and bake at 325F degrees for about 45 min, basting onions several times with sauce (don't stir).

    Uncover and continue to bake, basting occasionally, till sauce is thick on onions are well coated (about 45 more min).
