- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar or honey
Directions

1In a large bowl, dissolve 1 package dry yeast in half cup warm water.

2Stir in 2 cups warm water, 2 cups flour and 1 tablespoon sugar or honey.

3Beat until smooth.

4Cover bowl with cheesecloth. Let stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 days or until mixture has a fermented aroma, stirring 2 to 3 times a day.

5Fermentation time depends on room temperature; a warmer room makes it ferment faster.

6After this, store in a jar covered with cheesecloth and refrigerate.

7Do not cover jar with a lid.
