Ingredients
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 2 Tbsp. oil or shortening
- 1/2 c. molasses (I use sorghum)
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. or cakes yeast
- 5 to 6 c. bread flour
Directions

1Place cornmeal, oil, molasses and salt in large mixing bowl. Stir to mix and pour the two cups of boiling water over all.

2Let cool.

3Add the yeast.

4Stir.

5Add 5 or 6 cups of bread flour. Knead lightly.

6Place in greased bowl.

7Let rise until doubled in bulk.

8Knead again and place in 2 greased loaf pans.

9Let rise again until double.

10Bake 45 minutes at 350°, until bread pulls away from the sides of pan.

11Remove from pan; rub butter or oleo on top and sides.

12Cool on cake racks.
