- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. nonfat buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.

2Combine flour and next 4 ingredients; make a well in center of mixture. Add yeast mixture, oil and buttermilk; stir until dry ingredients are moistened.

3Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; roll to 1/2-inch thickness.

4Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter; place on ungreased baking sheets.

5Cover; let rise in a warm place (85°) free from drafts, 1 hour.

6Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

7Yields 24 (100 calories per biscuit).
