- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Sift together the flour, baking soda and sugar.

3Cut Crisco into flour mixture, adding yeast and buttermilk.

4Mix thoroughly and let rise 1 hour in refrigerator. Shape into biscuits or use biscuit cutter.

5Bake in 400° oven until brown.

6(Dough will keep in covered container in refrigerator for 4 to 5 days.)
