- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. yeast
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.

2Cut in shortening and flour.

3Add buttermilk, soda, sugar and yeast; blend well. Pinch off dough and roll biscuits; place in greased pan.

4Let rise.

5Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

6Leftover dough may be refrigerated for several days in airtight container.

7Makes 2 dozen biscuits.
