- 2 Tbsp. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. shortening (can use Crisco)
- 1 tsp. soda
- 5 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. warm buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water and add to the buttermilk.

2Mix in other dry ingredients. Make biscuits by rolling dough and cutting them out.

3Let rise about 10 minutes or longer before baking. Refrigerate any leftover for the next day.

4Bake at 325° until done.
