- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
Directions

1Measure sifted flour. Add sugar, then Crisco.

2Cut shortening into flour.

3Dissolve yeast in 1 1/2 cups warm water.

4To flour mixture, add buttermilk and yeast.

5Knead and roll out.

6Cut as for biscuits.

7Put butter or margarine on half of biscuit, then fold over other half.

8Pinch edges.

9Let stand and rise or bake at once.

10Bake at 450° until brown.
