Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda (added to buttermilk)

Directions

    Mix together

    and sugar. Cut in the Crisco. Add the

    buttermilk and soda mixture to the yeast mixture.

    Do not let rise.

    Roll out on pastry sheet and cut biscuits. Bake at 450° until brown.

    Or these may be stored in greased, large mixing bowl in

    baked as needed.
