- 1 cake yeast
- 2 Tbsp. lukewarm water
- 1 c. shortening
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

2Sift dry ingredients.

3Add shortening and mix.

4Add yeast mixture to buttermilk and then add to dry mixture.

5Knead dough enough to hold together and roll dough to 1/2 to 1/4 inch thick.

6Cut with biscuit cutter and fold as for pocketbook rolls.

7Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

8May be frozen.

9Makes about 5 dozen rolls.
