- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Combine dry ingredients and work in shortening.

3Stir in yeast and buttermilk.

4Dough will seem too soft to handle.

5Handle with well floured hands.

6Roll or shape as you like. Bake in hot 400° oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
