  • 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. buttermilk

    Combine dry ingredients.

    Combine milk, eggs and oil, then mix with dry ingredients.

    Bake in a greased cornstick pan for 12 to 15 minutes at 450°.

    If baked as cornbread or muffins, cook longer.
