- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
Directions

1Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl.

2Combine eggs, buttermilk and oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring until batter is smooth.

3Spoon the batter into well-greased cast-iron cornstick pans or bread pan, filling half full.

4Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

5Yields 3 dozen cornsticks.
