- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. water
- 5 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk (I usually use the dry buttermilk mix)
Directions

1Soak yeast in water.

2Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening.

3Add yeast, egg and buttermilk and mix well. Put in greased bowl and refrigerate.

4Roll out on well-floured board and cut biscuits.

5(The dough will be very sticky.)

6Let rise. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes. Will keep in covered bowl for 1 week in the refrigerator.
