- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. RapidRise yeast
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water; set aside.

2Mix sugar, flour and shortening with a fork.

3Pour in yeast mixture, then pour in buttermilk and mix well.

4Add extra flour if you need it to get dough ready to roll out.

5Cut out biscuits and place on greased pan.

6Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

7Remove from oven to butter.

8Makes 20 large biscuits.
