- 1 cup Salted Butter, Softened
- 2/3 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cups Toasted Nuts (if Desired)
- 3/4 cups Jam Or Jelly, More Or Less, To Fill Indentations (about 1 Teaspoon Per Cookie)
Directions

1Cream butter and brown sugar until creamy, and then add vanilla.

2In a separate bowl combine salt and flour.

3Add the dry ingredients (and nuts if desired) to the butter and brown sugar.

4Form 2 tablespoonfuls of dough at a time into balls and place on a baking sheet.

5With your thumb, gently press an indentation in the middle of each ball.

6In the indentation, place about 1 teaspoon of jam or jelly.

7Bake these cookies at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Set them on a cooling rack to cool.
