  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. anise oil*
  • 1 tsp. red or green food coloring

Directions

    Cook the first 3 ingredients to a hardball stage (275-300°). Remove from heat and stir in anise oil and food coloring. Pour into a greased pan. When almost cool, mark into squares with a sharp knife. You can also pull this like taffy and cut. Use granite or glass utensils for cooking.
