- 2 c. skim milk
- 1 1/3 c. oats
- 2/3 c. rye flour
- 2 tsp. crushed anise
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 2 Tbsp. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. to 1/2 c. water
- 3 to 4 c. flour

Directions

1Bring milk to boiling point and pour it over the oats, rye flour, crushed anise, salt and honey in a large bowl.

2Mix together.

3Cover the mixture with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it cool to 98.6° C. (body temperature).

4Dissolve yeast in 1/4 to 1/2 cup lukewarm water and add to the mixture.

5Work in enough white flour to make dough solid enough to shape into buns.

6This dough is very sticky and cannot be kneaded.

7It needs no first rising.
