- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 pound Ground Italian Sausage
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 whole Onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove Garlic, Minced
- 48 ounces, fluid Spaghetti Sauce
- 1/2 cups Red Wine
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 pound Ricotta Cheese
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1/2 cups Grated Parmesan
- 1/4 cups Chopped Fresh Parsley
- 1 pound Lasagne Noodles
- 4 cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
- 1/2 cups Parmesan
Directions

1For the sauce: In a large/deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat.

2Add both meats and onion and cook until meat has browned.

3Add garlic and cook for one minute more.

4Drain fat.

5Into the pan with the meat, onion, and garlic, add the spaghetti sauce.

6Bring to a boil.

7Add wine and sugar; stir and bring back a boil.

8Reduce heat to medium low to low and cover.

9Simmer for 15 minutes while preparing cheese filling and pasta (prepare pasta according to box directions).

10For the cheese filling: In a large bowl stir the ricotta cheese to soften.

11Add three eggs, one by one, mixing after each addition.

12Add Parmesan and parsley and stir to combine.

13Should be smooth and creamy looking!

14For the assembly: Preheat oven to 400 F.

15In the bottom of 9 x 13 baking pan, ladle some of your meat sauce using just enough to cover the bottom.

16Place a layer of noodles evenly along the bottom.

17It does not have to be perfect.

18Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture evenly over the noodles.

19Ladle 1/4 of the remaining meat sauce over the ricotta.

20Cover the meat sauce with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.

21Sprinkle on some Parmesan too!

22Start back with a layer of noodles and repeat the layering process 2 more times ending with noodles on top.

23Ladle the last 1/4 of the sauce over the noodles, then add the last cup of mozzarella, then another sprinkle of Parmesan.

24Cover the dish with foil.

25Bake in a 400 F oven for 30-35 minutes.

26Remove foil and bake for another 5 minutes until cheese is nice and golden.

27Remove from oven and let it sit about 10 minutes before slicing!
