  • 16 c. unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon or lime juice
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 7 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. allspice
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

    In a roaster (no lid) mix everything together.

    Bake at 325°, stirring 2 to 3 times per hour, until thick.

    Pour into hot jars and process 10 minutes or freeze after the jars cool.

    Yields nearly 7 pints.
