- 6 lb. apples (cooking apples)
- 4 c. apple juice
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Directions

1Prepare jars for processing.

2Cut apples into quarters (do not peel).

3In heavy 7-quart saucepan over high heat, bring apples and cider to boil.

4Reduce heat; cook 15 minutes until apples are tender.

5Into a very large bowl, press apple mix through food mill.

6Return apple pulp to pan; add sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Cook about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until thick, dark and mounds slightly when dropped from spoon.

7Remove from heat.

8Ladle mixture into jars, leaving about 1/4-inch space at top.

9Makes 10 (8 ounce) jars.
