Ingredients
- 5 lb. apples (preferably different kinds)
- 2 c. apple cider
- 2 c. dark brown sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cut apples into chunks, but do not peel.

2In a glass or stainless steel kettle, combine apples and cider.

3Cover and cook over medium-high heat until apples are very soft, about 30 minutes. Press through a food mill or fine sieve and return to the cleaned pot.

4Stir in sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

5Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until very thick, about 2 hours.

6Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate or freeze.
