  • 2 1/2 c. diced apples
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 lemon, seeded but not peeled and chopped
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. minced ginger
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in saucepan and simmer until fruit is soft, about a half hour if the apples are crisp.

    Serve warm or cold.
