Ingredients

  • 2 apples peeled and small dice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. 1
Its very important that you make the apples first, they will need to cool completely. In a saute pan, over medium low heat, add the butter and diced apples. Stir in the cinnamon and cook for approx 10 minutes, until the apples are slightly softened. Cool completely!
  2. 2
In a bowl, using a hand mixer, mix the milk and sugar until the sugar is dissolved, a couple minutes.
  3. 3
Using a spoon, stir in the cream and vanilla. With the ice cream maker on slowly pour in the mixture. Allow it to run for about 20 minutes or until it has slightly thickened.
  4. 4
Keeping the ice cream maker on, slowly add in the apples. Allow the ice cream to churn for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the consistency resembles a starting to melt soft serve ice cream.
  5. 5
At this point the ice cream will appear a little bit loose. Shut off the ice cream maker and spoon the ice cream into an air tight container and place it in the freezer. This will allow it to harden and then you can go ahead and scoop away!
