  • 1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 (1 lb. 15 oz.) can apple pie filling

    Melt butter in a 7 x 11 x 2-inch oblong pan.

    Combine sugar, flour, baking powder and salt with milk to make batter.

    (If too stiff, add a little extra milk.)

    Pour batter over butter.

    Mix apple pie filling with raisins and smooth gently over batter. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

    Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
