- 3 large apples (Golden Delicious work really well)
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- vanilla ice cream (optional) or whipped cream (optional)
- 8 ounces caramel ice cream topping (optional)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, core,and thinly slice apples. Arrange in a buttered 9-inch round baking dish. In medium bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter and oats. Sprinkle over apples.

2Bake for 30-35 minutes until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.

3Serve warm. Top with vanilla ice cream and caramel. (if desired).
