  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Directions

    Combine 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, water and cinnamon in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.

    Slice into pan and mix.

    Blend remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, salt and butter until crumbly.

    Spread over apples; pat smooth.

    Bake at 375° for about 40 to 45 minutes, until apples are tender and crust nicely browned.
