  • 6 c. cut up apples, peeled
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Arrange cut apples in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish.

    Add water. Combine topping ingredients; cut in butter until mixture is coated but still in crumbs.

    Place on top of apples.

    Cover pan with foil and bake 30 minutes at 350°.

    Uncover pan and bake 30 minutes more at 350°.
